LRTC Performs at FBLA States! |

On March 11th & 12th students from LRTC competed at the FBLA state competitions with great results:
17 first place, 9 second place, & 8 third place! As a team LRTC placed second overall.
A special thanks to Sonia St.Pierre as the lead advisor as well as Tammy Sawyer & Marcella Lessard as advisors for planning, preparing, coordinating, and giving of themselves to ensure student success.

The Green Ladle is open for lunch starting Thursday, January 31st, 2013. Our students are very excited to cook for you and show you all they have learned the first semester of school year 2012-2013! They have put together a wonderful Italian menu to open with - please see below. We will be open on Thursday, January 31st and Friday, February 1st, 2013 - menu remains the same for both days and is $10 per guest - appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, dessert and beverage are included. |

ABC Craft Championships |

Aproximately 70 students from LRTC attended the ABC Craft Championships at the Augusta Civic Center. Students from the Electricity Program competed in various wiring challenges in the building mock up (middle left of image below). In addition to competitions there were demonstrations, heavy equipment simulators, welding opprtunities, engineering bridges for weight, raffles, games, and many others. Bryanna Sult - Exploring Healthcare Professions program was presented with a Kindle Fire by Rob Callahan, LRTC Director. Bry's winning ticket was drawn from a bucket containing hundreds of entries from students who participated in a fundraiser for SkillsUSA. Students raised money for local, state, and national leadership and skills competitions. A big thank you to all those who participated and cheritably gave to student opportunities. |

Automotive Student Gets Safety Certification |

Casey Brochu of Automotive Technology with Mr. Bernier was the FIRST student to successfully complete the interactive S/P2 Mechanical Safety Program. Completion of this program certifies Casey with a knowledge base used in industry safety standards. Casey is a first year student at LRTC. Just one of many success stories from the Fall 2012! As a student at LRTC not only will you learn the technical and employability skills necessary for a successful career…you have opportunities such as dual enrollment. This fall 30 students from Carpentry, Law Enforcement, and Computer Repair/Computer Networking are enrolled in dual enrollment for college credits.
