Are you interested in a career in healthcare? this 2 block, 1 year course is designed to prepare students for college study or entry-level positions in this fast-growing industry that includes over 400 professions from audiology to zoology. The rigorous curriculum includes anatomy & physiology, medical terminology and principles of healthcare. Students will also practice clinical skills in the lab, explore a variety of medical professions and develop a comprehensive career portfolio. Students who complete the course will have the opportunity to earn 3 national certifications: first aid/CPR, work-ready skills and the National Healthcare Assessment.
Students should be junior or seniors who posses excellent attendance and work ethic, be able to read, write and research at the 11th grade level or higher, have an internal motivation to learn and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
