Carpentry/Building Construction
Students in the Carpentry/Building Construction program receive instruction and develop skills necessary for manufacturing or remodeling of residential and light commercial construction. Students have the opportunity to plan and build a wide range of projects in the school and community. Students will work on job sites, learn the proper use of and work with power tools (large and small) and work with a large variety of building materials. Skills learned in this program will allow students to secure paid entry level career opportunities while in school.
Carpentry 1
Students in the Carpentry/Building Construction Program develop the essential skills necessary for residential and light commercial construction.
Students enrolling in the Carpentry / Building Construction Program should . . .
+ demonstrate measuring ability.
+ be able to read and comprehend written and verbal direction.
+ be able to work in all types of weather, performing multiple tasks
+ have the ability to work without supervision in a team setting.
+ have good eye-hand coordination.
+ demonstrate good attendance.
+ demonstrate the ability to attain craftsmanship.
Students should obtain: Tool belt & specific tools
Carpentry 2
Must have successfully completed Carpentry I.
