IT 1
The first year of the Information Technology program will focus on introducing students to different types of hardware and software. By the end of the first year, students will be able to: build a PC, replace desktop or laptop components, and troubleshoot a majority or software problems. Students will be exposed to a paperless classroom focused on individual learning at their own pace. Other topics include: client virtualization, introduction to Linux, customer service, and basic networking.
IT 2
The primary focus of the Information Technology II course is on complex networking concepts:
+ Networking architecture (Designing and implementing networks)
+ Programming routers, switches, and network security appliances
+ Managing Windows and Linux servers
+ Hardware and server virtualization
+ Cyber security, physical security, social engineering, and intrusion prevention
Ambitious and motivated students will have the opportunity to invest in independent projects in areas related to technology, or take additional online tech related courses such as CyberSecurity, Ethical Hacking, PenTesting, Intro to Linux, Programming, Game Development and more. (some courses may award additional college credits and/or scholarships).
